SUZANNE BELINSON: Association of Reproductive History with Human Papillomavirus and Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia Severity (Under the direction of Katherine Hartmann) Our objective was to uncover potential links between Human Papillomavirus infection, common reproductive outcomes and high-grade cervical pre-cancer. We evaluated common reproductive risk factors, by varied stratifications of histologic grade, among 2,055 women positive and 6,657 women negative for Human Papillomavirus (HPV), who were enrolled in the Shanxi Province Cervical Cancer Screening Study II. Logistic regression was used to generate odds ratios and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals.

INTRODUCTION/OBJECTIVE Persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) types is a necessary cause for cervical cancer development. The aim of this study was to evaluate the significance of different molecular markers for cervical carcinogenesis, and to assess their association with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. MATERIALS AND METHODS 378 cervical samples from women attendi...
متن کاملAssociation of human papillomavirus type 58 variant with the risk of cervical cancer.
Human papillomavirus (HPV) type 58 has been found to be prevalent among Chinese patients with cervical cancer. This study examined the oncogenic risk of HPV58 variants in Hong Kong, a southern part of China. Altogether, 1924 women were studied: 42.8% with a normal cervix, 16.2% with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) I, 12.7% with CIN II, 20.8% with CIN III, and 7.6% with invasive cervica...
متن کاملPnm-17: Cost Effectiveness of Human Papillomavirus Testing in Cervical Cancer Diagnosis
Background: Epidemiological studies are shown robust association between human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer. From 1990 HPV was known as a necessary but insufficient cause of cervical invasive cancer. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cost effectiveness of HPV test in cervical cancer screening. Materials and Methods: This is a systematic review article; the newest scienti...
متن کاملCervical Microbiota Associated with Higher Grade Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia in Women Infected with High-Risk Human Papillomaviruses.
It is increasingly recognized that microbes that reside in and on human body sites play major roles in modifying the pathogenesis of several diseases, including cancer. However, specific microbes or microbial communities that can be mechanistically linked to cervical carcinogenesis remain largely unexplored. The purpose of the study was to examine the association between cervical microbiota and...
